A Latke Holiday Party with Community Bookstore (2019)
Prior to the pandemic, we had been invited to cater the Community Bookstore latke party in Park Slope. It’s a lovely little tradition with the staff to celebrate the end of the year. Be sure to support this independent bookshop by stopping by their shop in Park Slope, Brooklyn or by ordering your next book online from them. If you stop by, maybe you will see Tiny the Usurper (one of the more elusive staff members, pictured below).

The Holiday Party Menu
We worked with Stephanie Valdez and Ezra Goldstein to put together a small, but bountiful menu for their team. Ezra sourced local latkes, and we brought the rest of the snacks.
Our cheese and charcuterie graze featured dramatic moondrop grapes, manchego, brie, raclette, Ewephoria sheep gouda, prosciutto, parmesan crisps, bresaola, speck, salami, dried fruit, baguette, and crackers.
We warmed up vegan filo cups with a creamed kale filling and sauteed garlic kale on top. It was crispy, creamy, and savory!
Our vegan stuffed cremini mushrooms were roasted and then filled with cubed potato, acorn squash, and crispy onions.
A Party Tip
When you put together a mixed grazing table with cheese and meats, make sure you have enough tongs. You need a set for each "section" to avoid cross-contamination. As caterers, we always have a few more clean pairs stashed behind the scenes in case they get dropped on the ground or if they get too messy.
